In 1987, the Koizumi International Lighting Design Competition for Students started with the aim of advancing the culture of light and fostering young talents. This international lighting design competition is the only competition for students in the world, and it has came to be globally known as a stepping-stone for students all over the world aspiring for careers as designers. We received entries from 27500 students pursuing careers in design and architecture in 20 years, and many prize winners have been active as leading designers in the next generation. We would like to continue to support the dreams and passion of all students throughout the world, and inform the public of exceptional young talents. We would like to ask you to introduce their outstanding accomplishments through the media.
